My singing and playing are pretty ropey. I'd link to another version if I could find one, but I can't find this tune anywhere else - can you?

Love the tune. Love the words even more. Best Maundy Thursday hymn if you ask me. What's your favourite?
Hi Glen,
Nice song. I immediately recognised the tune from an Iona Community song which sets words about following Jesus to the same tune (FYI http://www.billysloan.co.uk/songs/will_you_come_and_follow_me.html): it's a traditional Scottish folk tune called Kelvingrove.
A quick google search yielded the music: http://www.nigelgatherer.com/tunes/tab/tab8/kelvg.html.
Hope that helps!
Thanks Maria - gorgeous tune isn't it?
No problem - yes it is. I'm just listening to a man singing the original song in a wonderful accent! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfDgVdMMcRw
Favorite hymn for Maundy Thursday is "Go to Dark Gethsemane" with the traditional music by Redhead. And for the communion hymn it's "Bread of the World, in Mercy Broken", especially in the beautiful old Rendez A Dieu tune.
Being a Canadian I have no idea what "ropey" means, but I think your version is pretty good! I'm going to use this tonight. Hadn't heard it before. Thanks!

Maria - that's a beautiful version. Put it together with this guy's guitaring and you've got a decidedly non-ropey musical outing:

Thanks for the recommendations John, and the link James
